"La fée verte", or the green fairy is what absinthe was commonly referred to by the French in literary circles. This anise-flavored spirit was derived from botanicals, including the wormwood plant, which being poisonous added to the mythology surrounding absinthe. Stories of hallucination, obsession, and madness have made the drink historically mysterious, which we set out to capture in this poster.
